# Disabling Chat on a per Client basis

Hi we’re currently have our own chat applications, and we want to use this alongside Zoom Meeting Component View.

Is there a way to initialize a Zoom Meeting Client with zoom chat disabled?  
platforms: Web / iOS / Android

Hello @jet.fontanilla ,

Thank you for posting on our developer forum.  
To disable the meeting chat function, please go to the **Zoom web portal \>\> My Account \>\> Setting \>\> In Meeting(Basic)** sign in to your Zoom account and disable the meeting chat function.  
Once the meeting host disables the meeting chat, the chat would not be allowed in this meeting.
