# Fail to mute application (error 8)

**Description**  
I’m running into an issue on android where after joining the session and getting the joined session callback, trying to mute the self client the first time will give me error code 8 (unknown error). Is there something I’m missing?

**Which Android Video SDK version?**  
1.5.2

**To Reproduce(If applicable)**  
As mentioned in description:

1. Create a session as host, audio unmuted on join request
2. On session callback, send a request to mute to be executed on main thread
3. Try to mute and get error 8 (`Errors_Unknown`)

**Troubleshooting Routes**  
If the user request an unmute/mute, the application works as expected (unmuted, then muted) with no errors

**Smartphone (please complete the following information):**

- Device: Pico Neo 3
- OS: Android 10
