# Get a user's host key via API

Hey @mtb,

The host key was removed a few months ago from that API response for security reasons. However we have two possible solutions that may work depending on your use case, you can review those [here](https://devforum.zoom.us/t/alternatives-to-using-the-host-key/74422).
