# /im/chat/messages being deprecated

**Description/Error**  
We received an email from Zoom which states:  
Our IM Chat APIs will be deprecated in favor for our new user level **[Chat APIs](http://click.zoom.us/e/84442/-chat-messages-getchatmessages/bfmhb4/963725239?h=xW_Wc34mO5OF8tkJnkuMZM-WABoA8IBkPxa63YW2OJg)** that we have released during October. The below API endpoints will be deprecated.

- **/** v2/im/chat/sessions
- **/** v2/im/chat/sessions/{sessionId}
- **/** v2/im/chat/messages

However, the chatbot docs ([https://marketplace.zoom.us/docs/guides/chatbots/sending-messages](https://marketplace.zoom.us/docs/guides/chatbots/sending-messages)) still talk about im/chat/messages.

chatbots are admin level apps. The alternative mentioned in the email ([https://marketplace.zoom.us/docs/api-reference/zoom-api/chat-messages/sendachatmessage](https://marketplace.zoom.us/docs/api-reference/zoom-api/chat-messages/sendachatmessage)) states that it is for user managed apps only.

How will the bots send messages in the future? Please clarify.

Hey @ps40,

Apologies for the confusion, the [Send Chatbot Message endpoint](https://marketplace.zoom.us/docs/api-reference/zoom-api/im-chat/sendchatbot) will **not be deprecated** , and remain as is.

The new [Send Chat Message endpoint](https://marketplace.zoom.us/docs/api-reference/zoom-api/chat-messages/sendachatmessage) is user level and sends messages on behalf of a user.
