# Programmatic Join disables Anonymous Join Exception — which setting should we use?

Hello Zoom Developer Team,

I’m developing a **Windows Meeting SDK** application called **OBS Fuse Bridge** for private use within our organization.

I noticed the following behavior in the

Zoom General App settings under:

**Production → Features → Embed → Meeting SDK**

- When **“Are you developing a programmatic join use case?”** is **ON** , the **“Request Anonymous Join Exception”** option becomes disabled.
- When I turn **Programmatic Join OFF** , the **Anonymous Join Exception** option becomes available.

I want to make sure I configure the app correctly rather than disabling Programmatic Join just to make the exception option available.

Our actual workflow is:

- A human technician opens OBS Studio.
- The technician manually opens OBS Fuse Bridge and clicks **Connect**.
- The technician provides/uses the Zoom meeting information.
- OBS Fuse Bridge joins the meeting as a visible participant.
- The meeting host remains in control of admission and grants the required recording/live-streaming permission inside the meeting before raw meeting video is accessed.
- The application does not autonomously search for or join meetings by itself.

Our technicians may need to join meetings hosted by **different Zoom accounts** , and we would like to avoid requiring every technician or meeting host to perform separate OAuth/ZAK/OBF authorization if the Anonymous Join Exception is appropriate for this use case.

Could a Zoom Developer Advocate please clarify:

**1. Does this workflow count as a “Programmatic Join” use case even though a human operator manually initiates every join?**

**2. Are “Programmatic Join” and “Anonymous Join Exception” intentionally mutually exclusive?**

**3. If our application qualifies for the Anonymous Join Exception, should we leave Programmatic Join OFF and request the exception, or is there another correct configuration for a Windows Meeting SDK application like ours?**

Platform: **Windows Meeting SDK v7.1.5.43953**  
App type: **General App**  
Intended distribution: **Private / Unlisted organizational use**

- Programmatic Join ON → Anonymous Join Exception disabled
- Programmatic Join OFF → Anonymous Join Exception available

@Myko this is not programmatic join, but this can be considered as Anonymous join
