# RTMS start via REST returns error 2310 despite full setup

Goal: Automatically start an RTMS stream for a Zoom meeting via the REST API when a specific event happens in our backend, without a host manually opening the meeting’s Apps panel.

Details about the app:

- App ID: 3zU2qTEKSnaghbfa0dslow
- App Name: RTMS App
- Client ID: p\_JYPwqpSyOPUzrqVSsoPg
- Status: Development

Happy to DM over any other details.

Setup steps taken:

1. Created a General App (“RTMS App”) in the Zoom App Marketplace.
2. Access → Event Subscription: enabled, added events “RTMS started in Meeting” and “RTMS stopped in Meeting”, set Event notification endpoint URL to our webhook.
3. Scopes on RTMS App: meeting:read:meeting\_audio, meeting:read:meeting\_transcript, rtms:read:rtms\_started, rtms:read:rtms\_stopped.
4. Scopes on our separate Server-to-Server OAuth app (used to call the REST endpoint): meeting:update:participant\_rtms\_app\_status:admin.
5. Set OAuth Redirect URL and Allow List on RTMS App. Completed OAuth Local Test authorization. Tested with two different hosts on the account: one Basic plan, one Pro plan.
6. Account Settings → Zoom Apps → Meeting → “Share realtime meeting content with apps”: on.
7. Account Settings → Zoom Apps → Meeting → “Auto-start apps that access shared realtime meeting content”: RTMS App added.
8. 20 credits of Zoom Build Platform added

No meeting.rtms\_started event is received. Why are we receiving the “Failed to perform RTMS app operation” error? How do we get it resolved?
