# The error code -2 in using the meeting SDK

**Description**  
It displays error code -2 when joining the meeting

**Browser Console Error**  
Browser Chrome 81

**Which Web Meeting SDK version?**  
1.9.6

**To Reproduce(If applicable)**  
Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

1. Go to join the meeting
2. Waiting for loading to join the meeting
3. Get this error code -2

**Screenshots**

Something went wrong.  
The server encountered an internal error and unable to process your request.  
Error code: -2  
With Retry button and Exit button

**Device (please complete the following information):**

- Device: Dell
- OS: [e.g. macOS 11]
- Browser: Chrome
- Browser Version 88.0.4324.150 (Official Build) (x86\_64)

Do you know why using meeting sdk have this error code: -2? Thank you so much.

Hey @zan.zhang,

Thank you for reaching out to the Zoom Developer Forum. I just have a couple of questions to get started:

1. Does this happen every time you join a meeting?
2. Does this happen with Chrome only?
3. Do you see any errors in the console when this happens?

I remember an older instance of this which was on the same version, you can find it here:

However, with that issue, our team required steps to reproduce the issue to investigate further. One thing I’m noticing is that you are using the same version.

If possible, the quickest solution here is likely to upgrade to the latest version of the [Web SDK](https://marketplace.zoom.us/docs/sdk/native-sdks/web#zoom-web-sdk) (2.0.1) and also update to the latest version of Chrome. Along with that, you would want to follow our guide on [Improving Web SDK Performance](https://marketplace.zoom.us/docs/sdk/overview/improve-performance).

As a quick test, you can spin up our [Sample Web App](https://github.com/zoom/sample-app-web).
