Zoom Apps Configuration

- Zoom App: CrowdTimer
- Client ID: EAMOzouET0u5nMwosvOqGA
- Frontend: Svelte 5 + Vite; Bun/TypeScript server
- Zoom Apps SDK: @zoom/appssdk 0.16.41
- Zoom Workplace desktop client: 7.1.0.83064 on macOS
- Running context: inMeeting
- Native Zoom user role: host
- Home URL: [https://live.crowdtimer.app](https://live.crowdtimer.app)

Description

CrowdTimer uses Dynamic Indicator countdowns. Starting a native indicator works, but
updating its badge color via setDynamicIndicatorStyle does not.

We have selected setDynamicIndicatorStyle in the Zoom App SDK APIs under Features → Surface.
The app requests it in zoomSdk.config().

Error?

zoomSdk.config() returns:

unsupportedApis: [
“appPopout”,
“closeBreakoutRooms”,
“configureBreakoutRooms”,
“onParticipantChange”,
“setDynamicIndicatorStyle”
]

A direct host-side call fails:

await zoomSdk.setDynamicIndicatorStyle({
backgroundColor: “#a16207”,
textColor: “#ffffff”
})

with:

Error: No Permission for this API. [code:80004, reason:app\_not\_support]

getUserContext() confirms the caller’s role is host.

Troubleshooting Routes

- Upgraded from SDK 0.16.38 to 0.16.41, which includes setDynamicIndicatorStyle.
- Confirmed the live deployment uses the intended Client ID.
- Confirmed the feature is selected in the Marketplace Surface API picker.
- Confirmed the app requests the capability during zoomSdk.config().
- Fully reopened Zoom and CrowdTimer.
- Confirmed the meeting context and native host role.
- Direct console invocation produces the same 80004 app\_not\_support result.

How To Reproduce

1. Start a Zoom meeting as host using Zoom Workplace 7.1.0.83064.
2. Open CrowdTimer.
3. Call:

await zoomSdk.config({
version: “0.16”,
capabilities: [“setDynamicIndicator”, “setDynamicIndicatorStyle”]
})

1. Observe setDynamicIndicatorStyle in unsupportedApis.
2. Start a dynamic indicator successfully with setDynamicIndicator.
3. Call setDynamicIndicatorStyle and receive 80004 app\_not\_support.

hi @acyment

You must declare these in your marketplace app and then in your appssdk inception.
You then need to re-authrosie the app to pickup the change.
i run an output into the console to confirm the new scope is setup.

But, as you are the second person to have an unsupported call concern, I will ask @elisa.zoom
to check this please.
I hope that helps
