# Virtual background for Video SDK?

Will there be support for virtual backgrounds in the new Video SDK. If yes, which versions (Desktop, Mobile, Web)?

Hi @tkoehler, thanks for using the dev forum.

We do not currently have any plans to add virtual background support for the Video SDK. The Video SDK does provide you with the ability to send and receive raw video data, which can be used to add virtual backgrounds or any other video effects you would like.
