We have a regular meeting that we have structured as a breakout room so we can use the main room as a welcome room. It helps us to eradicate zoom bombing of the actual meeting, and it’s also a very friendly way to start the meeting. However, we lose some features in the breakout room that we need.
The structure of the Zoom waiting room inhibits meaningful communication, so it doesn’t meet the need described above.

We would like for there to be a welcome room and a main room, both with full meeting room functionality.

Another alternative that might also achieve the desired effect would be to enhance the interface and available interactions in the waiting room so we can freely communicate just as if we were in a meeting room.
