Updating published apps with new APIs

Recently, a developer of a published Zoom App asked us whether adding additional APIs to their app would require a re-review of the app:

We’d like to enable the expandApp SDK API for our recently published app. This new scope won’t change the way our app functions, other than expanding/collapsing it.

As I understand, the app review process is intended for any impactful new, changing, or breaking functionality. Will we still need to go through the full app review process?

Any change to an application requires an UPDATE submission and a review. The length and depth of the review is impacted by scope changes or UX impacts. In this case, the addition of this low-impact JS SDK API would be a very fast review and we could approve it shortly after receiving the request.
