We would like to request a feature enhancement for the Zoom API to allow meeting hosts to completely disable in-meeting chat during a meeting creation via the API, rather than relying on manual controls within the meeting interface.
Use Case:
Currently, while the “Update a Meeting” API call allows for certain settings adjustments, there is no way to disable the chat feature entirely for a meeting via API. The only available method is through manual controls in the Zoom interface during the meeting, where the host can choose to disable chat or control who can send messages.
In some of our meetings scheduled via the API, we would prefer to disable the chat entirely from the beginning, without requiring any manual intervention.
Requested Feature:
We would like Zoom to add an option in the API that allows meeting hosts to disable the chat functionality for all participants when scheduling or updating a meeting. This would help us manage the meeting environment and ensure that chat is not used during certain meetings.
