Joining webinar using web sdk

I am able to join a meeting using the web sdk (ZoomMtg.join). But when I try to use this function with a webinar meeting id, it fails. Is the SDK not meant for use with webinars?

We are planning on enhancing our Web SDK to join webinars in our next release in a couple weeks.
