I am using Javascript SDK for the API calls to the zoom servers. I have a pro account and I can use API calls to make a video call communication.
However I want to use zoom API for good video communcation. Current I can see that it supports 360p resolution only. Can anyone share when can I expect the video resolution upgrade to 480p or 720p in near future in SDK?
Motive of project : Teachers will use zoom app to host a session for 2- 3 students and students should be able to communicate via video and chat.
Thank you for giving us these suggestions. Our development team is already working on adding these features in our future releases. I will update this thread one the features requested by you are available.
I wanted to follow up for more clarity. Currently the host who is using a native version of the Zoom client can share their content or display their webcam at 720p or full HD to the attendee that is using the JS SDK. Now if a host is using JS SDK to display their webcam then the resolution will be transmitted to others using 360p. We are working on a way display the host JS SDK resolution to 720p.
Also, our chat feature will be available within the next release. Be on the lookout for recent updates within our marketplace docs[1] and our developer forum new releases section [2].
Do you have some fresh news about it ?
I’m using JS SDK and I’d like to improve the video quality on my web application.
We are using for medicine business.
Here we are in the same situation. Our clients are allways making complaints about Web SDK image and sound poor quality and this start to be very problematic to manage.
They invested money to have Zoom integrated in their web platform using zoom web SDK and now they realize that the quality standards aren’t acceptable.
When do you expect to have a release that turns the web SDK experience to an acceptable level?
We are developing a new product on top of Web SDK for our clients. We stream 720 and 1080p video, but having an issue with overloading CPUs. I encountered with @michael_p.zoom’s post here which he basically tells Zoom Web SDK is set to 360p whatever input resolution is. I’d like to ask if Zoom is downsizing input video resolution to 360p on host’s CPUs’? This is so important for us to figure out the bottleneck we are facing.
Would you at least explain if this downsizing happening on the host’s side or Zoom’s cloud servers? Depending on, we’ll pass 360p to the Web SDK in order to speed up the system
Do you have a rough estimation for enabling 720p service on Web SDK? We actually tell our customers it is going to be 720p in the future, but at least should tell them about a time frame.
