Unable to map meeting registrant id with live participant id

Hey @tommy

It worked!. I just needed to regenerate token for my app after subscribing to the web hooks. It’s working now.

Thanks

Hi @tommy,

One of our participants encountered a problem while joining the zoom meeting.
The participant was trying to join through the unique join link.

A window pop up was being shown as she tried to join.
She also wasn’t able to get the OTP on the phone number.
Switching the device fixed the issue.

Do we know any possible reason behind this?

Thanks

Hey @saurabh,

Are you using one of our SDKs, or just the Zoom Native App?

This is related to verifying phone numbers when joining a meeting. Was this a China Zoom user?
Did she try verifying her phone number?

Possible related thread:

Thanks,
Tommy

She was using just the Zoom Native App. She wasn’t a China User also.
She tried verifying her phone number with correct country code too, but didn’t get any otp.

All our participants join meetings through Zoom Native App, this case of phone verification hasn’t occurred before.

Also, she was able to join using the same link on a different device though.

Thanks for the details @saurabh!

Was she logged in by chance? Also where is she located, and do you know where her location settings in the Zoom Web Portal are set to? The phone number verification is usually just a feature in China.

Let us know if this happens again. (ZOOM-116490)

Thanks,
Tommy

Okay sure,
She was located in India. I will need to check with her location settings.
Thanks for the update.

Hey, Recently I came across this issue.
One of the participants who was registered for the zoom meeting was not able to join from the browser using the same link
I am attaching the screenshot of the same.

This is the participant’s email id: divyasanghi145@gmail.com
Though when I created a new zoom meeting which did not require registration, she was able to join from browser.

Is it that for registration required meeting, join from browser option has been disabled?

Also, when she tried to join from the zoom app, she is getting the phone number verification pop up which, as we earlier discussed, is meant only for China users.

As she is using her office laptop, can that be an issue? How can we make sure that she doesn’t get the phone number verification pop up, as she is blocked on that and cannot join.

When she logins from her account on zoom, she gets redirected to zoom.us/cn
This is her email: divyasanghi145@gmail.com
Can we somehow make sure that she doesn’t get the phone number verification blocker?

Thank you

Hey @saurabh,

Currently meeting registration is not supported with the Zoom Web Client.

Is there anyway you can provide the user ID for her? I can’t seem to look her up by that email.

Thanks,
Tommy

Is it that for ‘registration required’ type of meeting, the option to join from browser has been disabled?

Hey @saurabh,

Correct, with registration required, as of now our Web Client does not support it. We are working to support this soon.

Thanks,
Tommy

Okay, here is the screenshot of profile page of another account for the same user.

Can this be an issue with her system due to which she gets the pop up for phone number verification?

Hey @saurabh,

Apologies, I am confused, this user email is different than the one previously shared?

Thanks,
Tommy

Yes, she tried joining through two different emails, for both of them, she was getting the same phone verification pop up.
