Our app has “Rooms” enabled under Scopes. Our customer has the latest version of the Zoom Client installed.
When the app screen is shared by any method, the display is not appearing in the Zoom Room. This includes:
- Using the “Share App Screen” feature
- Rendering the layers API in the video feed
- Rendering the layers API in the immersive display
Presumably the “Rooms” scope should enable one (or all) of these methods to allow the app to display in the Zoom Room. Are we missing something?
Hi Zoom team, any insight into this? @Robert.Wallis @MaxM Are Zoom Apps not able to display video in Zoom Rooms or are we missing something? Many Thanks!
Thank you for posting in the Zoom Developer Forum. Sorry we overlooked this post initially. This feature has been released some time ago. To stay updated with the latest changes and updates, please refer to our release notes.

Hi @donte.zoom thanks for the reply. This issue was happening with Zoom Apps SDK version 0.16.17 and with the “Rooms” surface enabled. I don’t see anything relevant posted in the changelog. Can you clarify if/when share app screen or layers API began working in Zoom Rooms?
It looks like immersive view is supported for Zoom Rooms:
However, I don’t see an InImmersive
context for the Zoom App Zoom Room APIs. So I don’t think the Layers APIs are currently supported for Zoom Rooms.

If possible, could you provide a video demonstrating what you see when sharing the screen and what you expect to happen?
