Adding Registrant to Closest Occurrence in Recurring Webinar via API

When I create a webinar and make it recurring, then for some reason when I add a client to the webinar as a registrant through the API, it adds him directly to my last recurring date instead of the closest date.
Even when I set Occurrence ID it still adds the customer to the last webinar on the list!
What can be done to get around this?
