Is there a way to start recording meeting in Zoom client via some API.
Context: I want to create an app (OAuth I think), that integrates with Zoom client (shown in side window). And will be available in Zoom Marketplace, so any one can use it.
The application window should have the “Start Recording” button. If user click on it, the meeting recording is started, as if user clicked on the Zoom native Record button.
Is it possible? Do I need Video SDK / API for that?
I reference on Fathom.
Thanks for reaching out to the Zoom Developer Forum, I am happy to help here!
As for right now, developing In meeting Zoom Apps is not available for GA.
The apps that you see published in the Marketplace like Fathom, were part of a Beta testing project.
Hope this helps,
Elisa
hey @ERRORNAME
I am happy to clarify this for you.
For this endpoint Zoom Meeting API you only need to meet the following prerequisites to be able to use it
@elisa.zoom, thanks for the answer. You approved that the API exists and works. And I saw a lot of different apps in the Zoom Marketplace, so I may conclude that publishing is possible. Or am I wrong? What exactly hinders developing an application?
Is it possible to join the beta testing that you mentioned?
Thank you in advance for your response.
Zoom Apps were launched for customer availability of a subset of apps, but GA for developers and availability of developer resources have not been released yet. We will be sharing updates soon!
Hi @elisa.zoom - does the endpoint to start a cloud recording still exist? The link you’ve shared no longer works, and I haven’t been able to find it manually.
We’re very interested in enabling our app to allow users to programatically start a recording, so having the API would be great!
