Enable Cloud Recording using in-meeting API

Hi, I’ m looking to enable cloud recording for a meeting which is in progress using the API https://marketplace.zoom.us/docs/api-reference/zoom-api/meetings/inmeetingrecordingcontrol I’m getting response as {“code”:200,“message”:“No permission.”}.

And even if I give wrong meeting id (just to check what it returns), it returns the same response.

I’ve created a user-level app and it has scopes which this particular API needs.

Hi @Sneh, the first two things I’d check:

  • is this app installed by the meeting host?
  • does the host and/or meeting have cloud recording enabled?

Are you able to start meeting recording manually in the app, but not through the app?

Yes, this app was installed by me (I was the meeting host). And I’ve enabled the cloud recording on my account. I am also able to start the cloud recording manually from the UI inside the meeting.
