Are Cloud Recordings playable if hosted from a website?

Description/Error
Specifically, I’m trying to figure out if the cloud recordings are playable “out of the box” from a browser and do not require transcoding to be playable.

Additionally, do the cloud recordings have some set of known properties that you can share? For example, the screen recording files being MP4s restricted to 1080p resolution with a max bitrate, etc.

Hey @j.herman,

Yes the cloud recordings are playable when using the play_url .

Here are more details on recording file types / properties

Let me know if this helps!

Thanks,
Tommy

Hi Tommy,

The Cloud Recording page just states that the type of files are MP4, M4A, etc., without specifying any specifics (e.g. resolution capped at 1080p, bit rate capped at 12 Mbps, etc.).

Are there any further details into the file data, or are there no guarantees in that regard?

Thank You,

Jonathan

It should be the same resolution and bit rate every time.

Thanks,
Tommy

Hi Tommy,

Do you have any specific numbers?

Thank You,
Jonathan

Hey @j.herman,

After inspecting my recording via QuickTime player:

FPS: 25
Bit Rate: 1.60 Mbit/s
Resolution: 1280 x 720

Thanks,
Tommy
