Camera issues with M1 Big Sur

Thanks, @mulder.guido - I’ll try that with the main app. Have you been able to get the SDK working on an M1 machine?

@jon.zoom - can you please provide an ETA? We’re starting to lose customers because of the M1 issues. Even an update on progress would be truly appreciated. Thanks

Hi @daves,

We are still working on stabilizing the M1 chip support version of the SDK. I cannot provide an exact ETA, but this is planned for our next release and typically we aim for a release cadence of every 2-3 months with the SDK. This is by no means a guarantee and may vary with each release based on the content of the release.

Thanks!

Hi @jon.zoom - it has been 2 weeks since the last update. Checking in to see if you can share another update? Hoping M1 support is included in this upcoming release.

Looking forward to hearing back. Thanks!

Hi @daves, thank you for continuing to follow up on this.

We still intend to include M1 support in our next release, but do not have any updates on the exact timing of the release.

Thanks!

Zoom is currently working, but the Chinese Partner from Zoom, Umeet (Systec Umeet) still has the pink screen. Will there also be an update on this partner?

Hi @alejandroast, thanks for using Zoom.

It appears that you are asking about the Zoom client. This forum is meant only to assist developers who are integrating our SDK into their own applications. For help with the Zoom client, please visit our general support page. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @jon.zoom - do you have any updates here? This is continuing to affect us, and as more folks upgrade to the new Macs, we suffer even more. It would be amazing if this gets released soon.

Can you please share an ETA? Also, is there anything our engineering team can do to help?

Thanks!

Hi @daves, thank you for following up on this.

Unfortunately we still do not have any meaningful updates, but we are getting closer to being able to release M1 support in the upcoming release! We are very sorry that this is taking as long as it has and realize that M1 support is a must-have for many developers today. We are just as eager as you to finally see this next release!

As a reminder, the most up-to-date information on the latest releases can always be found on the release notes page, as well as within the marketplace under the Manage section found in the top-right corner. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks!

Hi @jon.zoom - checking in again. The lack of M1 support has now become a serious issue for us - can you please provide an ETA?

Additionally, we’re now getting error reports that trying to connect to some meetings via SDK fails because the client is too old / outdated.

Our application depends on the SDK working properly, we really need your help in pushing to expedite the release of the next SDK version.

Thank you, I really appreciate your support!

Hi @daves,

I do actually have some good news this time! We are currently in the process of finalizing the release. We are expecting it to be available this week, barring any unforeseen circumstances. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you for bearing with us through this process!

Thanks for this update @jon.zoom! Definitely good news - very excited about this!

Thank you again!!

You are very welcome!

Did this update get released? I’m having frequent issues with Zoom on my Macbook Air M1 with Big Sur it seems the camera freezes a lot without me realizing it which can be awkward – is there an issue in the Zoom client as well that is still related to this issue?
