I’m an enterprise account member (not admin) trying to create an OAuth app.
I can access marketplace.zoom.us and click “Develop” → “Build App”, but on the next page showing app types (OAuth, Server-to-Server OAuth, Webhook, etc.), all options are greyed out and unselectable.
Questions:
- Is this a role-based restriction in enterprise accounts?
- Can regular members create personal OAuth apps without admin privileges?
- Is there a specific permission that admins need to grant for app creation?
My use case: Automatically download my own meeting recordings to Google Drive using Zoom API.
Additional context: Our IT department claims that:
- “Zoom doesn’t have personal-level API development functionality”
- “API key permissions cannot be granularly controlled”
- “Only administrator-level accounts can create apps”
Are these statements accurate? Or is this a misunderstanding of Zoom’s capabilities vs. organizational policies?
