Can FREE Zoom accounts use apps in the markeplace?

The previous generation of Zoom apps only worked for paid Zoom accounts. Now it seems that in the new marketplace anybody can install an app regardless of their Zoom plan. Is that correct?

Anyone should be able to install apps (pending the settings/feature/plan limitations of the app or Zoom account).

Just wanted to clarify. Free zoom app users can install apps? Yes or no?

What confused me is this part: “(pending the settings/feature/plan limitations of the app or Zoom account).”

I imagine that relates to the functionality on Zoom’s side the app is trying to tap into. So If the functionality that the app is communicating with is available on the free plan then it should be good. Is that what this parenthesis is about?

Yes! :slight_smile:

Correct! For example, if the App Requires use of the Webinar Scopes/API, the Free user does not have the Webinar Feature, so they will not be able to install the app.

We are working on conditional scopes so as to allow more dynamic installation of apps across the different Zoom features and pricing.
