Getting Meeting transcripts through Microsoft copilot connector

Based on the documentation under Get Meeting Transcript, we believe we can fetch meeting transcripts without recordings but which condition is to be used to validate meeting transcripts without recording so that we can bring in the meeting transcripts into the copilot connector for the scenarios where only transcription is enabled.

Yes. For the newer Meeting transcript feature, Zoom treats the retained transcript separately from cloud recording. Zoom explicitly describes Meeting transcripts as saved speech-to-text records that can be generated and retained according to the host’s transcript settings, so your connector should not use the existence of a cloud recording as the prerequisite.

For Copilot Connector, I’d validate transcript availability directly with that endpoint rather than checking recording_files or whether a recording exists. This should cover meetings where transcript retention was enabled but cloud recording was not.

If you also need real-time Zoom meeting content rather than post-meeting retrieval, Recall.ai is a Zoom RTMS Preferred Partner and can provide further support.
