Good Morning,
Last night, after my usual Zoom meeting, I tried to record at the end of the session, but due to a technical issue, my laptop shut down, and the Zoom recording didn’t finish… My question is: How can I retrieve the recording of my Zoom meeting? Or is it possible to resume the video recording that was interrupted last night?
Thank you
Hi @Rahmawati_Takwa was this a cloud or computer recording? It may be in your local files if it was recording to your computer. You can also check to see if a partial recording has been processed to the cloud if it’s a cloud recording. There’s no way reliable way to recover it otherwise. Sorry!
If this was a computer recording, look for the local meeting folder and try a manual conversion from double_click_to_convert_01.zoom. If this was a cloud recording, check Recordings & Transcripts for a partial file or a recording that is still processing.
Shutting down the computer during local conversion stops that conversion and local recordings live only on the device that created them, so Zoom can’t recover them from the server side if the files are gone. You should also be aware that cloud recordings may take up to 24 hours to finish, and if they stay in processing for more than 48 hours, you can reach out to support for help manually recovering the cloud recording. The docs do not show a supported way to resume the same interrupted recording session after the laptop powered off.
If you would prefer not to manage this integration complexity on your end, you might want to try out Recall.ai’s Meeting Bot API. It’s a simple API that allows you to fetch recordings and transcripts from Zoom calls, both live and after the call has ended.
