Need help to clarify the SDK comparison

Q1. Per https://marketplace.zoom.us/docs/sdk/video/compare
I do not understand this item “Compatible with Zoom Meetings”, what does it mean?

Q2. Is Video Web SDK has the similar performance limitation as Client Web SDK that only supports up to 360p video?

Br,
Yi

Hey @yxue2 ,

Compatible with Zoom Meetings means that you can join Zoom Meetings. For example, a Zoom meeting can be joined from the Zoom App, and the Zoom Client SDKs.

Yes. 720p is coming soon.

Thanks,
Tommy

Hey @tommy,

Thanks for the info. It’s very helpful.
I have some more queries about the SDK comparison:

Q3. Per Video SDK and Meetings SDK comparison – Zoom Help Center, client SDK supports 180P/360P/720P, but I did search and found some 1080p issues in Client SDK reported on the forum. Does client SDK only support up to 720p or there is wrong info in this doc?

Q4. Can HW video accelerator be used when integrate Web SDK to improve performance and how? What about other Client SDK or VideoSDK?

Br,
Yi

Hey @yxue2 ,

For the native platforms (Android, iOS, macOS and Windows) they do support 720p.

Can you clarify what you mean by HW video accelerator?

Thanks,
Tommy

Hey @tommy,

following Q3: So 1080p is only supported on Desktop Client, right?
Is there any way to enable 1080p in native client SDK? Or any plan to support 1080p in native client SDK in the near future?

Q4: I mean use HW component as video encoder/decoder for Web SDK or other native client SDK.

Br,
Yi

Hey @yxue2 ,

Here is info on 1080p in Desktop Client:

https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/207347086-Group-HD

For Native Client SDK questions please post in #desktop-client-sdk

I am not sure about this. Any resources you can share so I can get up to speed?

Thanks,
Tommy
