Sudden spike in latency in multiple session at a time

Hi Zoom Developer Support Team,

We observed a localized but significant performance issue impacting multiple concurrent Zoom Video SDK sessions on May 7, 2026, started at 19:03 IST.

Participants across several independent sessions reported severe video blurring. Upon reviewing the Analytics Dashboard, we confirmed a sharp, synchronized spike in latency for multiple participants starting at exactly 19:03 IST.

Technical Details

  • SDK Version: 2.2.12

  • Impact: Multiple concurrent sessions.

  • Symptoms: Sudden high latency, video degradation (blurring)

  • Timeline: started at 19:03 IST (May 7).

Below are the Session IDs for the impacted session:

Hi @Iqbal1 let me take a look at the sessions you’ve shared. Is it possible for you to update the Web SDK to the latest version and see if that fixes the issue?

Hi @ekaansh.zoom , we’ll move forward with the SDK upgrade. That said, we need deeper logs regarding this spike. Our analytics dashboard doesn’t show enough data to isolate the cause at our end, & since this is the first time we’ve faced this particular issue so we’re trying to find root cause of it.

further:
we are also facing one issue on regular basis related to video blurring, whenever there is a slight fluctuation in internet speed the video quality gets downgraded & take more time to get recover whereas network fluctuation duration is generally very less, on same network & setup it works smoothly on native zoom application. We want similar kind of recovery mode here as well, could you please share any reference doc/resource to implement this?
FYI: we currently pass VideoQuality.Video_720P as second arg in attachVideo method for large video preview.

Hi @Iqbal1

take more time to get recover whereas network fluctuation duration is generally very less, on same network & setup it works smoothly on native zoom application.

It’s a known issue, and we are working on improving the user experience around it.

Thanks
Vic

Hi @ekaansh.zoom we pushed the recommended SDK version upgrade to production this past Saturday. We’re currently monitoring the new sessions, but we’re still looking forward to hearing back from you on the issue.

@vic.yang thanks for informing about that open issue, is there any thread or way to keep track of the progress of that fix/enhancement?

@ekaansh.zoom reporting one more issue from today’s session.

session id : F7RwJZ9rSnGl45ILqMWEbA==
issue : video quality automatically drops on host side (participant id: 11) between 16:32 - 16:35 automatically, bandwidth were stable throughout.
Impact: other participant’s saw blur/laggy video of host.

Please let me know the findings for this as well.

Thanks & Regards
Iqbal
