A time difference of hours displayed in the webinar Q&A window

Description
It seems Zoom shows weird behavior in the webinar Q&A panel. There is a time difference between hours displayed in the Zoom native mac app and the zoom SDK - please see the screenshot.

Which Web Client SDK version?
1.9.1

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Start webinar session by zoom app
  2. Join webinar session by zoom web SDK
  3. Open the Q&A window in the web SDK and ask a question
  4. Answer question in the zoom app

Screenshots
On the left is the zoom application and on the right is the zoom SDK - look at the time on Julia’s answer. The zoom app shows 06:59 AM and the zoom SDK 04:43:55.

Device

  • OS: macOS version 11.2.3
  • Browser: Chrome
  • Browser Version 90.0.4430.72 (Official Build) (x86_64)
  • Zoom app Version: 5.5.5 (13148.0305)

Hey @krg,

Thank you for reaching out to the Zoom Developer Forum. This definitely seems like an issue on our end. I’ll reach out to our engineering team but first are you able to confirm what local timezones Denise and Julia are using?

I’m thinking that the Web SDK is showing the local timezone of the user that asked/answered instead of defaulting to the timezone of the client running the SDK. Knowing the timezones those users are in will help to confirm this.

Thanks,
Max

They were both in the same time zone - UTC +2.
Basically, they were both using the same computer as well.
The only difference was that Julia used the Mac os native zoom app and Denis used the zoom wed SDK

Hi @krg,

Thank you for confirming these details. We’ve shared this example with our Engineering team and we’re looking into it! (CS-3296)
