About the Addition of the Document URL

After submitting the Zoom app, I received the following comment.

Documentation URL
This resource must redirect to detailed instructions on how to add, use, and remove the integration and must be included in the Documentation URL textbox in your next submission.
We recommend you to kindly adjust your Knowledge Base Content to include all of the required content from this URL: Common reasons for app submission rejection

Regarding the sections “Adding the App”, “Usage”, and “Removing the App”:
As the app is currently under review, we are unable to access the related screens and therefore cannot create the documentation at this stage. Could you advise us on how we should proceed in this situation?

※This image is not from our app.

What we are developing is a feature where scheduling a meeting from the app’s calendar automatically books a Zoom meeting and generates a URL.

Hi @minamisono

I’m a bit confused by your message about not being able to create documentation. The documentation should be hosted on your own site or a platform like Zoom Docs, Notion, Atlassian, or something similar.

If you’re trying to attach the URL to your app submission but the system isn’t allowing it, you can use the Withdraw button at the top of your app page. This will remove the app from the review queue and allow you to make the necessary changes before resubmitting.

Let me know if this helps clarify things!

Let me provide some additional context.

I’d like to ask whether it’s possible to run the app before it has been approved.

To document the “Adding the App,” “Usage,” and “Removing the App” sections, I believe it’s necessary to actually test the app prior to approval.

Would it be possible to run the app even before it’s approved?

Thank you for your comments!! @catalina.diaz

I’ve added a supplementary note to my reply.

I’d greatly appreciate it if you could kindly take a look.

@minamisono
Yes, reviewers are able to run and test apps that haven’t been published yet. They have the necessary permissions to install unpublished apps all they need is access to your testing environment, whether that’s your website, app, or platform.

As long as the full flow is present and functional in that environment, reviewers can walk through the integration. You can also test everything yourself beforehand using either development or production credentials whichever setup works best for you.

If you’re referring to having someone review the app internally before submission, that’s totally fine and encouraged. The main limitation comes when you want to involve external users outside your organization that’s where the Zoom review process comes in, to approve your app for broader access.

For now, if your goal is to have a reviewer test your app, just make sure the production environment is set up and accessible. Once installed, they should be able to run through the integration without any issues.
