Account admin not able to submit app created by another user

Description
I am a collaborator for an app which was originally created by another user. I am trying to submit the app for updates, but my account admin is unable to open the app.

When they try to open the https://marketplace.zoom.us/develop/applications/… url, they get an error: “The application is not found”. They can see the app under “Apps on Account” > “Created apps”, but there is no option to submit the app.

I know they have submitted this app in past, has something changed in the permissions? Shouldn’t admins be able to submit an app that was created by someone else? We went through the user permissions, and noticed that they were missing “Server-to-server OAuth app” permissions under “Zoom for developers”, but even after enabling that and logging in again, there was no difference.

I know the app creator can submit the app, but they are not available right now and I’m hoping that the admins can do this too. I’m happy to provide more details.

Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for your post. Unfortunately, nothing can be done; only the app creator can submit. That has always been the case; nothing has changed.

Regards, Kwaku

Thanks Kwaku. That’s interesting, I had a similar issue a year ago, and at that time the admin was able to submit. I’m not sure why that time was different - https://devforum.zoom.us/t/unable-to-submit-app-send-updates-is-disabled/100776/3

Only allowing the creator the submit seems very restrictive, for example if that user is on vacation or otherwise unavailable.

We will take this into consideration in the future. One option would be if you have a user with admin access to the marketplace, they can transfer ownership and give another user with admin rights to the marketplace ownership. instructions are here: Transferring App Ownership - Zoom Developers
