Unable to manage created app despite being admin

I can’t access an app I created. I get a message telling me to contact the administrator–but I am the admin.

Error Message:
Unable to view the app. Contact the administrator for access.

If I go to Apps on Account, I can view it there and verify that I am indeed listed as the admin. I’ve tried disabling and re-enabling; no luck. Not sure what could be causing this or what to try next.

Hey there. Here’s some suggested steps I’d go through:

Confirm you’re the Owner

  • Only the account Owner can manage published apps in the Zoom Marketplace.

  • Even if your role is “Admin”, certain Marketplace permissions are restricted.

  • Go to Zoom web portal → Admin → User Management → Roles and confirm your role.

  1. Check Marketplace Permissions
    • In the web portal, under Role Management → Marketplace, ensure the role assigned to you has all Marketplace permissions enabled.

    • If you’re an Admin, the Owner may need to grant you access explicitly.

  2. Account Type Restrictions
    • Marketplace app creation/management requires a Pro, Business, or higher account.

    • If you started development on a free (Basic) account and later upgraded, the app might be tied to an old user context.

  3. Apps in Development vs Published
    • If the app is in “Development”, you’ll only see it under the “Manage” → “Created Apps” tab when logged into the same Zoom account used to create it.

    • If you accidentally created the app under another Zoom login (personal vs work), it won’t appear in your current account.

Thanks so much, Alex. Unfortunately, I still don’t have access. I’ve followed your advice and here’s what’s happened:

  • The app creator is an admin, not an owner. I logged in through my owner account, but I don’t see the app in my Created Apps list (I assume because the owner wasn’t the one who created it?). I can view it (as admin or owner) under Apps on Account, but I can’t edit it (just disable/re-enable).

    1. All Marketplace Permissions are enabled for the Admin role.

      As owner, I can’t see any more options for granting access. Integration and Marketplace boxes were already checked.

    2. We have a Pro account. Accounts haven’t changed since development started.

    3. The app only appears under the Manage>Created Apps tab when logged into the admin account in which it was created.

Thoughts on what to do next?
