We’re creating an app, and I want to add several testers to the app. However, adding testers in the platform comes with a requirement to add a monetization plan (even though my app is free, I won’t need to accept money, I don’t understand why I’m forced to do this), then I go to the monetization page and it says “Please set up your payment account with Stripe”. However when I then click on that to go set up my payment account, there’s no Stripe in the options. Only papal, credit card or google pay. So how do I proceed from here? All I’m looking to do is to create an app and beta test it with a few people, this process over-complicates a very simple requirement.
Hi @cinteladmin
I am tagging my colleague @catalina.diaz to help out here with this question!
Hi @cinteladmin
Adding testers to your platform shouldn’t require enabling the monetization plan, unless you’re actually using monetization features, which it doesn’t sound like you are.
When reviewers ask for a test account, they’re typically referring to a basic login (e.g., username and password) so they can access your platform and test how it integrates with Zoom. That’s all they need, there’s no requirement to activate monetization if your app doesn’t rely on it.
Even in cases where monetization is enabled, our testers have ways to validate functionality without making actual payments.
The main requirement is that the test account you provide (if you choose to provide one) includes any necessary sample data or access levels for example, a dummy client, student, or anything else needed to walk through your app’s key flows.
In short: keep it simple, and just make sure reviewers can access and test your app as an end user would.
