DAO What causes screen share lag?

I just tested out Tuple. Buttery smooth screen share. Much lower CPU usage. But clients don’t want to switch.

What exactly causes the lag with Zoom OSX screensharing? I don’t get lag until I’m in a live call AND screensharing. Is there a kext that zoom uses for screensharing? How is it designed? Is there different drivers I can try to search for a smoother experience? If I watch the stats page CPU is at 60% and occasionally peaks to 80%.

How much work is it for Zoom to fix? Is it something that could be done overnight by dropping in a prewritten screendriver or do you think it would need a whole rewrite?
