This question came in during the Kickoff from someone using RTMS to build a sales assistant for their customers:
“If we develop a real-time AI sales coach using RTMS beta, does our customer need to use a special version of the Zoom desktop app?”

They won’t need a “special version,” but your users will need to update to a newer Zoom version to use new RTMS controls.
When RTMS launches to GA, users can download a version of the Zoom client that supports RTMS features like auto-start or start/stop controls. Other participants in the meeting on previous client versions will see apps in our Active App Notifier. So when we launch together, you may want to recommend your users update their Zoom apps.
During the Developer Preview, you’ll need to use a special developer client to build your app. This client gives access to the RTMS features not yet released in the GA version. Going forward, new versions of the Zoom client will be released for general use, so your end users won’t require a dev build after GA.
