From Beta to Marketplace

Hi everybody, I am having the following questions. We just got approved for Beta access and are now working on testing and getting ready for the marketplace submission. In the meantime, we would highly appreciate if someone could clarify the following questions:

  1. Beta Access Renewal, What are the exact steps to renew the Beta access after a month? Is it literally just clicking the button or is there a delay?

  2. We are thinking of NOT listing the application in the EU, we were wondering if we ever decide to list the application in the EU, what are the implications in terms of steps and timeline? Do we require re-approval?

  3. We are thinking of NOT listing the application on the marketplace / have it unlisted. Again if we ever decide to have it listed, what are the implications in terms of steps and timeline? Do we require a re-approval?

  4. After submitting the application for a marketplace listing, what are the general timelines? We are already in Beta approval

  5. If you require additional documents for the final approval, does this freeze our beta access, or does that usually persist for the duration of the final approval?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Tim,

Please see my answers below:

1. The Authorization URL will remain active for 90 days and will automatically renew every 30 days until the 90-day period is reached.

2. If you need to list your app in the EU, you need to fill in the information required in that section, or EU users will not have access to your app. If your app gets published before you intend to list your app in the EU, you will need to submit an update request with the required information so that EU users can get access to it.

3. Please make sure you understand what unlisting versus listing your app on the Marketplace implies: App discoverability and activation - Zoom Developers and Key concepts for Zoom Developer Platform - Zoom Developers. If you decide to change the discoverability of your app in the future, you will be able to do so by submitting an update request.

4. Authorization URLs are not related to App Publishing approval**—they are two separate processes.

  • Functional reviews have a 72-hour SLA (excluding weekends and U.S. holidays) for each submission. The timeline depends on the quality of the submission - ensuring all required items are included will speed up the process.
  • Security reviews take approximately 2 weeks from the completion of the functional review. Please note that this timeline also depends on how long it takes you to resolve the comments our team raises for you.

5. Beta URLs are valid for 90 days once approved. After expiration, they cannot be extended.
