Having Crash while starting zoom class

When i am trying to join zoom session in our app, so got the crash in a while. In debug mode , this gave error: Cannot retrieve the container URL for the application group identifier group.us.zoom. Make sure that it has been added to the com.apple.security.application-groups entitlement.

Zoom version: 4.4.56624.1028
XCode Version: 11.0

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Join any live class in app
  2. Start that class
  3. After a while app crashed
  • Device: On All Devices ( checked on iPhone 7, iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus)
  • Version: 13.1.3

On App Store build as well found crashes since yesterday night. Please update asap for this

As you mentioned in your document that max supported Xcode version is XCode 10, so can we create build from XCode11 or not?

Hi Dolly,

Thanks for the post. Based on the error code you are mentioning:

Cannot retrieve the container URL for the application group identifier group.us.zoom. Make sure that it has been added to the com.apple.security.application-groups entitlement.

It seems like you are using the groupID group.us.zoom for the sharing feature, this is a Zoom’s group ID so when Apple found out that your account is not from us, it blocks you from using it. Please use your own groupID instead. You may follow the instruction in our doc for the sharing feature: https://marketplace.zoom.us/docs/sdk/native-sdks/iOS/mastering-zoom-sdk/in-meeting-function/zoom-meeting-ui/screen-share

Hi, we are not using app groups, they are disabled in XCode. We just have permissions enable for App Groups in developer account. No app group attached there.

Thanks for the reply. Based on the error message, it seems like our groupID is included somewhere in you code, please double-check the following position:

  1. Please do not directly include or import the MobileRTCSampleScreenShare broadcast upload extension
  2. In your SDK initialization, please set the appGroupId to be your own groupID(https://github.com/zoom/zoom-sdk-ios/blob/master/MobileRTCSample/MobileRTCSample/SDKPresenters/how_to_init_auth_sdk/how_to_init_sdk/SDKInitPresenter.m#L25), if you do not have one, you can just leave it empty.
  3. In your broadcast upload extension, set the groupID to be your own groupID(https://github.com/zoom/zoom-sdk-ios/blob/master/MobileRTCSample/MobileRTCSampleScreenShare/SampleHandler.m#L28)

And thanks for sharing the crash report, based on the information provided in the crash report, it seems the crash is not from our SDK.
