did this problem get resolved, as I am continually fed up with read.ai hijacking my meetings and overriding my zoom recordings How do I get rid of it?
So, blocking Read.AI worked if we are the ones that run the meeting. But somehow this bot is showing up if we are invited to a zoom meeting by an external zoom account. And it still says it was invited by one of our internal users.
Hey @jphil16 and @debbiechurch
I created a support ticket on your behalf, you should hear back from our team soon.
Please make sure to follow up with them
I am having the same issue and cannot get Read.ai off my account. Can you please create a support ticket for me as well?
Hi Elisa,
I would also like a support ticket made - yesterday we deleted the Read AI app from one personâs account, removed permission for it to access Zoom altogether through our org, and it still is showing up in meetings somehow. Thank you for your help!
I never signed up with Read.ai so I canât go to that account to disable it. I also donât have the app in my Zoom settings. I want a ticket opened for me as well to get rid of this in my account. It is concerning that this could happen so easily to many people, come on Zoom!
Hi Heckscher, how did you block it? We have the same problem, never installed the app but it try to join our meetings.

Also trying to remove read.ai. Hopefully there is a better fix than creating an individual support ticket for each case as this is clearly an issue for many users.
Hi this is occurring in my organization as well. Can you please open a ticket for me?
Hi all. Read.ai has just surfaced at our institution. Iâve read through this disturbing thread and realize that we canât figure out how to get rid of it, either. Itâs not showing up in our list of installed apps. Can a ticket be created for me as well?
Deleting the Read app from Zoom wonât delete your Read account (and if Read is joining meetings on your behalf, meaning that your name is listed in the chat when Read joins, then you have a Read account). You can delete your Read account here: app.read.ai/analytics/settings/user/other, and you can also reach out to support@read.ai for help if you canât log in.
Thank you for chiming in @alison

Hi @elisa.zoom , Our institution just had the same issue occur. read.ai is not listed in our downloaded apps but is making its way into nearly every meeting and causing concerns about privacy and legality. Please submit a ticket for me to assist with removing it.
Hi Elisa,
Read.ai has appeared in multiple of our meetings and I am being forced to manually deny it. It is not added, and has never been approved in our App Marketplace dashboard. This is a huge issue for us as we have intentionally disabled transcripts for the related meetings and have major security concerns with an unapproved ai monitoring the meetings. Please help as soon as possible.

Hi @elisa.zoom , our organization has the same issue - can you please assist in completely removing read.ai and blocking it to all users of account?
Hello, we are having the same issue. The app was never installed in our orgâs Zoom account but it is showing up in countless meetings. Can you please help us?
Hello everyone!
I just wanted to update this thread since I had a helpful and insightful conversation with @alison from Readâs team about this issue.
Here is a little explanation on WHY Read.ai joins meetings:
-
Read cannot join a meeting unless invited by a user. In order for Read to join a meeting, the following steps would need to take place: (i) user creates an account, (ii) user connects a calendar and gives Read permissions, and (iii) user reviews the join settings. If you would like more context on how Read joined a specific meeting, please reach out to support@read.ai for assistance.
-
Removing the Zoom app does not stop Read from joining your meetings. You must delete your Read account to prevent Read from joining any meetings, including Zoom meetings and other platforms
-
To remove Read completely you will need to delete your Read account which you can do so here: Read AI. If you have trouble logging in to your account or are unsure if you have an account please reach out to support@read.ai for assistance
Here are some steps that you have to take in order to deactivate/delete Read, so it will stop joining your meetings:
- To delete Read, go to https://app.read.ai/analytics/settings/user/other and select âDelete my accountâ. After deletion, all data is wiped from Read AIâs servers (not recoverable)
- To adjust when Read joins meetings, you can adjust the join preferences at https://app.read.ai/analytics/settings/user/assistant
- To determine if and how reports are shared, you can adjust your Reporting preferences at https://app.read.ai/analytics/settings/user/reporting-
IMPORTANT If you have already deleted your Read account and are continuing to see Read join your meetings, there are only two possible explanations:
- Somebody else invited to your call is also using Read (note that they donât need to actually attend the meeting in order to add Read, they just have to be invited)
- You unintentionally created a second Read account, which is still configured to have Read automatically join your calls
To check which one of these scenarios can be happening, Read will send a message to the meeting chat at the start of the meeting after it joins, listing the name(s) of whoever invited it to the call. If you see your own name listed here, then that would indicate #2 is the explanation. In this case, you should:
- Search your emails for messages from support@e.read.ai (e.g. the âWelcome to Read!â message that goes to all new users)
- Check the address on the âto:â line; this is the primary email address of your Read account
- If you have multiple email addresses, you should check all of your inboxes
- Your account may have been created using single sign-on (SSO) (e.g. login with Microsoft/Google/etc), so make sure to try these options if you arenât able to login with email+password
If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to reach out to contact Read support since they will be better equipped to assist you!
