Is OAuth Reauthorization Required After a Technical Design Change in Zoom App?

Zoom Apps Configuration

Description

  • I would like to change one item in the Technical Design of the above app and submit it for review. I will not change any other part including the scopes.
  • If we submit the Zoom app for review and it is approved, do users who have already completed OAuth integration using the Zoom app on our service need to redo the OAuth integration?

hello,
any updates here?

Hi @kanata.koyama
Thanks for reaching out to us.
If this is only a metadata change, your users won’t need to reauthorize the app

Hi @elisa.zoom
Thanks for reply.

I would like to change the following item from No to Yes in Technical Design,

Does your application collect, store, log, or retain Zoom user data, including Zoom OAuth Tokens?

Is this included in the “metadata” you are referring to?

Also, do I need to reauthorize only when there is a change in the access scope?
For example, if a Webhook Event is added (but the scope is unchanged), is it correct that reauthorization is not required?

thanks!

Hi @elisa.zoom
Excuse me, could you check above question?

@kanata.koyama,

Thanks

Correct, that should be included.

Correct, if you added a scope you will need to reauthorize.

That is correct but I would double-check with the app reviewer. Here is our support documentation on this topic:
