Hello Zoom Team,
We’re currently facing an issue with domain validation while trying to submit a new app version request. Here’s the situation:
- Previously Validated Subdomain:
Our app uses app.hibob.com, and we successfully validated this subdomain during our initial app setup.
- Validation Request for
HiBob.com:
While submitting the new version request, the system is now asking us to validate the parent domain, hibob.com. Since our app specifically uses app.hibob.com, we’re unclear why the parent domain validation is required.
Questions:
- Is it common to be asked for parent domain validation after a subdomain has already been validated?
- Considering our app only operates under
app.hibob.com, is validating hibob.com absolutely necessary?
Any guidance or clarification on this matter would be greatly appreciated, as we want to ensure compliance without redundant validations.
Thank you,
Eduard Lofitskyi
Hello
Question 1 - The system is still learning, and subdomain checking is not working as effectively as it should yet, but we will improve it soon.
Question 2 - If it’s different, it needs to be verified, but if you verified the root domain already, we can confirm it and manually validate the subdomain.

Hi @kwaku.nyante,
Thank you for your response and clarification.
To provide more context:
- Root Domain Purpose: The root domain
hibob.com serves as a marketing page and is not used in any way by our Zoom app.
- Subdomain Usage: Our app exclusively interacts with
app.hibob.com (e.g., OAuth and all other functionalities are routed through this subdomain).
Previously, we successfully validated app.hibob.com, but if necessary, we are happy to re-verify it. Since we do not use the root domain for the app, could you confirm if re-verifying the subdomain would suffice in this case?
We appreciate your assistance in resolving this and look forward to your confirmation.
Best regards,
Eduard Lofitskyi
