Password not being generated via API when disabled in settings

@chunsiong.zoom We have an issue, our web app need to return meeting passcode for the meeting created by the user via API. An issue has been identified that states that for users who have disabled meeting passcodes, no passcode is returned.

Is there any specific parameter which can be set for such scenario so that meeting passcode is returned at all costs despite any pre configured settings.

Need information on this.

@management1 No, you have to respect the user’s account settings.

@chunsiong.zoom
in our meeting with @yoon.conner where we have a demo of our app, he had disabled the meeting passcode and asked us specifically to generate meeting passcodes in scenarios where it was disabled, can you kindly double check on this, This was one of the issues highlighted by the reviewers and they asked us to contact customer support team.

@management1

If this is specifically related to publishing, please continue the conversation with the reviewers.

@smithjohns002002 the support as mentioned above is saying that is isn’t explicitly allowed .
Also, we found no such documentation related to this in the guidelines or documentation
if you have any official reference, kindly share .

Hello @management1

I just wanted to clarify that the meeting passcode was required by your app’s front-end, even though the meeting created from your app didn’t generate a meeting passcode. In other words, your app required users to enter a meeting passcode, even when the meeting didn’t have one.

In such cases, it would be better to allow users to join the meeting without entering a passcode, since some users may prefer to use other security measures like a waiting room to keep their meetings secure.

Once you’ve made the necessary changes, please resubmit the app for review. We can communicate directly via the submission.

Regards,
Yoon
