Random Black screen no errors 1.7.8

@Michael_Purnell @tommy can you all help Vijay and I fix the issue with the black screen and no errors. We are losing a lot of clients due to this. It’s happening on both Web/app SDK. We have attached videos and our meeting ids. When does zoom expect this to be fixed.

@tommy any updates on this?

@tommy @Ojus
Same problem here, random black screen, screen sharing on/off fixes it. This really makes it hard to use Zoom in production. We basically have to use the external client, making the SDK pretty much worthless as besides all the features it doesn’t support, it now randomly doesn’t work.
Can this please be addressed already? It’s been a number of days.

We’ve experienced this issue as well since the May 30th update (reference bkirk’s notes above). In communication with our support contact, we received this week the following update that we will be testing on our end.

Currently we are having the same issue on our events randomly.
Attendees get audio but they do not have the video.

Hey @emirgocen, @tnelson, @mb_j, @qun, @conradwalz, @vijayk.kannan, @developer-whova, @sales1,

We are releasing version 1.7.9 this weekend, which should fix the black screen issues:

Please update once it is available and let me know if the issue still appears.

Awesome, btw it mentions new rate limits what are the numbers to be exact?

That’s great news @tommy, thanks!. One question though - was the black screen issue limited to WebSDK on IOS? Because we see the issue on PC’s using the WebSDK and IOS using the IOS SDK. The notes above say “Fixed issue for user sees Black screen on iOS device” - so I am not sure if this just means its fixed when using WebSDK on IOS? (Which we aren’t).

Thanks for any additional info as we have an event starting monday and this has become a critical issue.

Did you release 1.7.9 this morning? We were told that would be released on the 22nd.

@Michael_Purnell any update on the release of 1.7.9? We are still receiving the black screen of death.

@tommy @Michael_Purnell it’s been four days since anyone has heard anything about 1.7.9 being released. We were under the impression that it would be rolled out over the weekend, but that’s not the case. Can someone please give us an update as to when 1.7.9 will be released. We are losing customers due to the black screen of death.

Hey @conradwalz, @mb_j, @vijayk.kannan, @developer-whova,

Update: WebSDK 1.7.9 release that was planned for this past weekend, was postponed (over the weekend) to June 24th, 2020: https://marketplace.zoom.us/docs/guides/stay-up-to-date/upcoming-changes/web-sdk

While we make every effort to update everyone when delays such as this occur, we apologize for not updating this thread and any inconvenience this caused you for this eagerly anticipated release of the WebSDK. Thank you for your patience as we work towards getting this new version of the WebSDK released as soon as possible.

Thanks for the update. So we can expect to see this tomorrow? Do you know what time it will be released tomorrow?

No sir, I don’t think we have a specific time slated for release, but you can subscribe to our ChangeLog notifications and be notified when this has been released: https://marketplace.zoom.us/docs/changelog (just click the “Subscribe to Updates” button to perform this action).

Hey @conradwalz please note, that the WebSDK 1.7.9 release has been further delayed, and the new tentative date is June 28th, 2020: https://marketplace.zoom.us/docs/guides/stay-up-to-date/upcoming-changes/web-sdk

Thanks for the update.

During these outages zoom will stop billing us ?
