Random Black screen no errors 1.7.8

@michael_p.zoom @tommy can you all help Vijay and I fix the issue with the black screen and no errors. We are losing a lot of clients due to this. It’s happening on both Web/app SDK. We have attached videos and our meeting ids. When does zoom expect this to be fixed.

Same problem here, random black screen, screen sharing on/off fixes it. This really makes it hard to use Zoom in production. We basically have to use the external client, making the SDK pretty much worthless as besides all the features it doesn’t support, it now randomly doesn’t work.
Can this please be addressed already? It’s been a number of days.

We’ve experienced this issue as well since the May 30th update (reference bkirk’s notes above). In communication with our support contact, we received this week the following update that we will be testing on our end.

That’s great news @tommy, thanks!. One question though - was the black screen issue limited to WebSDK on IOS? Because we see the issue on PC’s using the WebSDK and IOS using the IOS SDK. The notes above say “Fixed issue for user sees Black screen on iOS device” - so I am not sure if this just means its fixed when using WebSDK on IOS? (Which we aren’t).

Thanks for any additional info as we have an event starting monday and this has become a critical issue.

Did you release 1.7.9 this morning? We were told that would be released on the 22nd.

We were under the impression that it would be rolled out over the weekend, but that’s not the case. Can someone please give us an update as to when 1.7.9 will be released. We are losing customers due to the black screen of death.

Update: WebSDK 1.7.9 release that was planned for this past weekend, was postponed (over the weekend) to June 24th, 2020: https://marketplace.zoom.us/docs/guides/stay-up-to-date/upcoming-changes/web-sdk

While we make every effort to update everyone when delays such as this occur, we apologize for not updating this thread and any inconvenience this caused you for this eagerly anticipated release of the WebSDK.
