Caught Out!!!
Dear Zoom Team,
As a member of a Zoom Workplace Pro account, I’ve cloud recordings going back several months. I can also access a Zoom cloud recording from a class I attended in 2021, as well as Zoom recordings on another account from several months ago.
So when I was sent links to Zoom recordings of songwriting classes I’d taken part in, where I’d composed new songs, complete with all the passcodes, naturally I assumed they were stored on Zoom and I’d be able to download them.
Imagine my shock when I discovered they were erased after just six weeks!!!
There was no warning on the emails, no date of deletion and not even a hint that they would be removed!
I’m very upset about this and my whole opinion of Zoom has gone through the floor.
There must be many, many people in similar situations who would pay hundreds of dollars to get their Zoom cloud recordings back.
Decades ago, when I did my Computer Science degree, we learnt that good companies would keep backups. This was at a time when storage space was much, much more expensive than it is now.
