Request for Anonymous Join Exception

Hello Zoom Developer Support Team,

I sincerely apologize for bothering you, but we are in a very urgent situation.

Since yesterday, all of our Zoom meeting bots have been unable to join meetings. We have already enabled Request Anonymous Join Exception for our app “Note Bot” and submitted our request. If possible, we would be incredibly grateful if our exception request could be reviewed as soon as possible.

We operate a commercial B2B meeting minutes service with paying customers. At the user’s request, Note Bot joins Zoom meetings to generate AI meeting notes automatically. Anonymous bot participation is not a workaround for our service—it is the core functionality of the product. This is why we believe our use case aligns with the purpose of the Anonymous Join Exception.

We fully acknowledge that this situation was caused by our own misunderstanding. We were aware of the OBF update earlier this year, but because our already-approved app continued to work normally after the expected rollout in March, we mistakenly believed our application had already been granted an exception. As a result, we unfortunately stopped following this issue.

It now appears that the update has only recently been rolled out in Korea. After our bots suddenly stopped working yesterday, we found the information about Request Anonymous Join Exception, immediately updated our app configuration, and submitted our request.

We completely understand that your team is very busy, and we sincerely apologize for asking for special consideration. However, our customers are already being affected, and we would be truly grateful if our request could be reviewed at your earliest convenience.

Thank you very much for your time and understanding.

@yoon.conner

I’m very sorry for tagging you directly.

I completely understand that your team is very busy, but this issue is currently impacting our production B2B service and our paying customers, so I wanted to respectfully ask for your help.

If you have a moment, I would be truly grateful if you could take a look or point us to the appropriate person.

Thank you very much, and I sincerely apologize for bothering you.

Hello team,

Thank you for raising this issue. Please note that enforcement requires the implementation of a compliant method. Please review the document for details: FAQ - Updates to Meeting SDK authorization - Meeting SDK - Zoom Developer Docs

If you have any questions regarding this enforcement, please let us know.

Hello Yoon,

Thank you very much for your reply.

I apologize if my original post was unclear.

We have already reviewed the OBF documentation, enabled “Request Anonymous Join Exception” for our app, and submitted our exception request.

Our question is not about how to comply with the new policy. Rather, we are respectfully asking whether our Anonymous Join Exception request could be reviewed as soon as possible, as our production B2B service is currently impacted.

We completely understand the purpose of this policy and are committed to complying with Zoom’s requirements. We would be truly grateful for any assistance or guidance.

Thank you very much.

Hi team,

I’d be happy to support! I noticed there are already some communications regarding this topic in both the email and the app submission page. I’ll follow up in both places to keep the conversation going.

Best regards,

@yoon.conner

Thank you very much for your response.

I’m not familiar with how to send a direct message to a Zoom Developer Forum member. If possible, could you please send me a DM first? I’d be very grateful, and I’d be happy to explain our situation in more detail there.

Thank you again for your time and consideration.

Hi @toodury, I’ve sent you a DM! Feel free to respond directly there.
