Our team is currently conducting a comprehensive evaluation of major meeting platforms to determine the best fit for company-wide adoption. A key decision factor for us is the ability to build AI-powered meeting assistants (internal) — specifically, capturing per-participant audio streams and real-time transcripts with speaker identification.
We’ve been building a prototype using the Zoom Meeting SDK with onReceiveTranscriptionMsg, and it works well for text captions. However, to fully assess Zoom’s capabilities against competitors, we need to evaluate RTMS, which appears to be the only solution that provides:
- Per-participant audio streams with speaker identification
- Real-time transcription without requiring host to manually enable Live Transcription
- Backend WebSocket-based delivery suitable for AI/ML processing
Access to RTMS would allow us to complete our evaluation with a level playing field and give Zoom the opportunity to demonstrate its full platform strengths.
