Rooms API - Request for Clarification on Alert calls

Looking to get clarification on what the zoomroom.alarm_start and zoomroom.alarm_stop calls are actually meant to do. I have run them on several Zoom rooms and received success responses, but do not see anything different onscreen, in the admin portal for the room, etc. I do not receive any email alerts either.

What feature/parameter in the actual ZR do these alerts/‘alarms’ actually refer to?
