We are switching from Zoom for Salesforce (zoom_app) App to Zoom for Lighting (ZVC) App.
Due to this change, we have discovered a webhook set-up and are uncertain if there is any relation to the app being installed. Salesforce is the listener of information, however it is unclear who the sender is. As it’s related to Zoom, we looked at the App Marketplace to see which App may be configured to send details. There was no clear indication that any of the apps are sending information to Salesforce. The only app identified that seems to be in relation cannot be viewed or edited or found. Is this due to the app being outdated and hidded to avoid modification?
Please help find out if changes to the webhook sender are required and if there is any relation to the zoom_app that require modification in order to keep working as usual.
hi @Lisa2 ,
So, I would check if you have any Zoom Apps setup in your account on the Marketplace.
The App would have to list what webhooks it uses on Zoom.
So, you should be able to find it out there.
If you use the app, but don’t have rights to it, please give information on the app and the marketplace team will be able to find out for you.
All the best
From what you described, it sounds like the old Zoom for Salesforce (zoom_app) package likely registered the webhook in the past, and when the package was replaced or disabled, the webhook entry stayed behind without a visible owner. That usually happens when an app is deprecated or no longer supported in the marketplace the webhook keeps working, but the configuration screen is hidden because the app is not active anymore.
If you are moving fully to Zoom for Lightning, I would check two things:
Whether the new package installed its own webhook subscription.
Whether the old webhook endpoint is still receiving traffic from Zoom (you can confirm from your Salesforce logs).
If the old webhook is still sending data, then updating the sender or recreating the webhook with the new app is usually the cleanest option. This avoids any surprises after the transition.
Thank for the replies and your assumptions. A Statement from Zoom directly on this would be highly appreciated incl. best practices on how to resolves this matter start to finish.
The provided insights are valid and we have thought as much. It is clear to us on how to set up a new webhook with the new app and obtain the same functionality.
However**, how is an app, that is apparently no longer active and hidden from view, modified to stop sending information?**
