Web SDK websockets connection?

Description
Hi,
regarding the web SDK, i see that video streaming is made threw websockets.

  • is there any fallback when browser dont support it?
  • is it still well supported when there are more than 10 000 attendees?
  • if there is no latency with websockets, why dont you support polls in the web SDK?
  • as websockets are supported on mobile browsers, why the webSDk is not supported on mobile browsers phones and tablets? or is it?
    thanks

Hey @sebpatu,

You can see the Web SDK browser support here:

We also use Web Assembly which is not yet fully supported across all browsers:

Does that answer your questions?

Thanks,
Tommy

Thanks,
but it doies not answer my question:

  • is it still well supported when there are more than 10 000 attendees?
  • if there is no latency with websockets, why dont you support polls in the web SDK?
  • as websockets are supported on mobile browsers, why the webSDk is not supported on mobile browsers phones and tablets?

Hey @sebpatu,

Currently there are some connection issues with when there are more than 300 participants in a meeting using the Web SDK. To support 10,000 participants we suggest using the Zoom App instead.

Are you using meetings or webinars?

About polling, we are working to support it, and all other features on the Zoom App that are not on the Web SDK yet. It is not an issue with how websockets work.

The Web SDK is supported on Mobile Browsers, but some features work and are supported differently across the different browsers:

Thanks,
Tommy

ok thanks
i saw informations about mobile and sdk but maybe it was outdated.
im using webinars.
so just to be sure i understand properly, there is connections issues with more than 300 participants in webinars, even for only passive participants (not panelists) ?
thanks

Hey @sebpatu,

The 300 participant issue is only for meetings. I am confirming to see if this issue is also present for Webinar attendees.

Thanks,
Tommy

yes please confirm.
it would be strange that it is not the case

I will let you know!
