I am a user of Zoom and of BusyCal for work in two locations β my workplace and my home. I love the Zoom/BusyCal integration, which makes scheduling a Zoom meeting from within BusyCal seamless. However, there is one problem that makes this wonderful integration nearly unusable. On a daily basis, I have to reauthenticate Zoom in both locations. According to the BusyCal folks, the issue is on the Zoom side. When I authenticate from home, Zoom invalidates my authentication at my workplace, leading to my have to reauthenticate there. And when I reauthenticate there, Zoom invalidates my authentication at home. This cycle repeats on a daily basis.
Is there any way to have authentication remain in both locations? That would enable me to use this terrific feature effectively.
We thank you for reaching out, but we do not provide app-specific support. To help with your inquiry, please use the following links to contact the BusyCal team.
I did contact the BusyCal team and they said that the issue arises because Zoom cancels the authorization for one computer when a second computer is authorized. This is a Zoom limitation, not an app-specific issue.
Sorry, I misread the issue. That is correct. You can only be logged in to one computer at a time, but you can use multiple mobile devices. That is a current limitation that cannot be circumvented for security reasons.
Thanks for the quick reply. Since you allow multiple logins on mobile devices, itβs not clear to me what the security issue is with allowing multiple logins on computers, especially if they are done through the API and not directly. I would urge Zoom to reconsider this policy, which would make its integration with apps significantly more useable. Best, Ben
