Enable Zoom Events recordings to be embedded in platforms that block JavaScript-based embeds

A way for Zoom Events recordings, channels, and playlists to be embedded within third-party platforms that do not allow external JavaScript-based embed codes.

My organisation uses Zoom Events and Webinar Plus to deliver live webinars and manage the resulting recordings.

We would like those recordings to remain hosted and managed within Zoom while also being presented through a channel or playlist within another secure platform used by our trainers.

Zoom currently provides an embedded video option using a JavaScript-based script. This works when placed directly onto a standard website. However, our platform does not allow third-party JavaScript to be added to its content, only allowing iframe embeds.

This appears likely to affect other learning, membership, intranet and content platforms that restrict script-based embeds and instead support more standard forms of external media embedding.

As a result, we cannot display Zoom-hosted recordings directly within the platform our users already access.

What I have tested

I generated the official Zoom Events embedded video script and confirmed that it worked on a standalone webpage.

I then hosted that page externally and embedded the page within our platform.

The Zoom thumbnail and Play button displayed correctly. However, when the recording was selected, the player returned refused to connect

Zoom Support subsequently confirmed that Zoom does not currently provide an iframe-based embed code as an alternative.

The current limitation means organisations may have to:

  • Direct users away from their main platform to view recordings.
  • Download recordings from Zoom.
  • Upload duplicate copies into another video platform.
  • Maintain recordings in more than one system.
  • Lose Zoom viewing analytics and video-management benefits.
  • Introduce additional manual administration.
  • Provide a less seamless experience for users.

This reduces the practical value of Zoom Events and Zoom Video Management for organisations whose main platforms do not support JavaScript-based embeds.

Desired outcome

I would like to be able to present a Zoom Events recording securely within a third-party platform, even where that platform does not permit external JavaScript.

The recording should remain hosted, controlled and managed within Zoom.

Ideally, the experience would preserve:

  • Secure access.
  • Domain or audience restrictions.
  • Captions and transcripts.
  • Playback controls.
  • Full-screen viewing.
  • Viewer analytics.
  • Recording updates.
  • Zoom Video Management functionality.

Example use case

After a live webinar:

  1. Zoom processes and stores the recording.
  2. The recording remains within Zoom Events or Zoom Video Management.
  3. The recording is presented within an organisation’s existing user platform.
  4. Users watch it without needing to navigate to a separate video library.
  5. The organisation avoids downloading, duplicating and re-uploading the video.
  6. Zoom remains the authoritative platform for hosting and managing the recording.

Addressing this limitation would:

  • Make Zoom Events recordings usable across a wider range of third-party platforms.
  • Improve the value of Zoom Webinar Plus and Zoom Video Management.
  • Reduce duplicate video storage.
  • Reduce administrative effort.
  • Improve the user experience.
  • Support organisations that operate secure learning, membership or internal platforms.
  • Reduce the likelihood of organisations moving recordings to other video-hosting services.

Zoom now supports iframe-based embed codes for individual videos and channels through Zoom Video Management. These embeds support responsive or fixed sizing, inline or popover playback, channel carousels, private-content controls, and Zoom analytics.

First, confirm that the account has the Zoom Video Management add-on enabled, then open the recording or channel within Video Management and check its sharing modal for the iframe embed option. Zoom currently lists playlist iframe embedding under its July 22, 2026 release, so availability may depend on rollout status. If the iframe option is missing despite Video Management being licensed, provide Zoom Support with the account ID and reference the Video Management embedding release.

For recording workflows beyond Zoom-hosted playback, Recall.ai’s Meeting Bot API can capture and process webinars programmatically.

Hi Amanda, thanks for your reply. We have Zoom Video Management enabled, but only at a basic level, allowing 25 unique views, so I don’t think this is a viable workaround for our needs. I also can’t seem to add a recorded webinar from Zoom Webinar & Events Plus into a channel either in Zoom Video Management, and it seems odd that to do this with our webinars we would need to purchase a separate licence beyond Webinar Plus just to allow us to do this.

I was hoping that Zoom Webinar and Events Plus would allow us to embed a channel as mentioned or that perhaps this functionality could be offered.
