Join a meeting in a browser without entering a password for unauthorized participants

Hi, I have one question: is it possible to connect a participant who is not authorized to the meeting without entering the meeting password? For authorized participants everything is OK

Now I try 2 types of links:

  1. https://us02web.zoom.us/wc/join/{meetingId}?pwd={meetingPwd}
  2. https://us02web.zoom.us/wc/{meetingId}/join?pwd={meetingPwd}

But if I use the usual join_link (/j/{meetingId}?pwd={meetingPwd}), then everything works, but in order to join from the browser you need to make an additional click.

UPDATE:

From what I see - an unauthorized user can sometimes follow the link (1) and join the meeting without entering a password. But why is this happening? And how to prevent a password request?

Which App Type (OAuth / Chatbot / JWT / Webhook)?

OAuth

Hey @konstantinlypskyi,

If the password is in the url ?pwd=meetingPassword then you will not need to enter the password when joining.

Thanks,
Tommy

Hey @tommy,

Thanks for the answer, but this is not entirely true. Here’s how to reproduce the problem:

  1. create a meeting
  2. open incognito tab
  3. join the meeting via this type of link https://us02web.zoom.us/wc/join/{meetingId}?pwd={meetingPwd}]

I also made a video where you can see this problem: https://monosnap.com/file/mxODUTNP8pa91jz3jgk9TThXDaDQjd

Hey @konstantinlypskyi,

I see thanks for pointing it out. Since the Web Client is supported by our support team, please confirm with them about the embedded password: support.zoom.us

Thanks,
Tommy
